The Daily Show Redesign
I oversaw The Daily Show redesign working with Comedy Central to make something that felt more contemporary while still staying true to the roots of this historic show. We had three weeks to completely rebrand every aspect of this show. We worked around the clock. It was honestly a childhood dream come true to safeguard the design of a show that holds such a special place in my heart.
The Joys of a Daily Show Production
After my years at The Onion, I thought my most exciting and strangest years were behind me, but to my surprise, I was very wrong. It was quite an experience to be dropped into such a seasoned well-oiled machine with a rigid and rigorous schedule filled with so many talented people. I learned a lot. It's challenging to summarize what I took away from it. In short, everyone was working so quickly and held to such high standards; it led to the abandonment of what should have could have been. You work as hard as you can as fast as you can and hope you made a great show, and if it was a flop, the good news is you get to try again tomorrow. And just in case you were wondering, Jon Stewart, is somehow even more amazing than you already think he is. (Trevor is excellent too).
Daily Show Social
In 2014 The Daily Show had a nearly non-existent social feed. I lead the transition to transform how we engage with our audience. We became responsive to what was happening in the world, with live coverage of significant events such as debates and elections. We developed refillable content that was easy on our rigorous production schedule while still keeping us connected with our audience.
